Welcome to Unisong - a mixed, adult community choir in Bromham, Bedford which offers a warm welcome to everyone, regardless of musical ability or experience.
The choir was set up in September 2013 by Evelyn Sutherland, an experienced, local piano teacher and choir leader who is passionate about bringing people together to sing. There are no auditions and no requirement to read music.
Come along and forget your worries! Let your hair down, sing your heart out, laugh, make friends and enjoy the benefits which singing together brings, including giving a boost to your physical and mental health and well-being. We invite you to come and learn from a wide range of repertoire, including songs from musicals from stage and screen, to light classics, through to world music and folk songs to classic pop. There’s something for everyone!
We like to give something back to the community so in summer and at Christmas we give concerts for local charities.
During lockdown we got to grips with technology and continued our weekly rehearsals online via zoom. We enjoyed themed nights, taking us to the theatre, cinema, the sea, VE Day, the last night of the proms and countries around the world, to name just a few of our themes. We even had a Bake Off night, making chocolate cookies and singing sweets themed songs! During this time it was important that we kept our community together, singing for fun as well as working on our vocal technique and harmonies.
